Huawei MatePad Pro 11 (2022) Review

Huawei has expanded its ecosystem into the audio and PC categories but has not forgotten its roots – phones and tablets.

We’ve done a review of the MatePad T10 before, but with the MatePad Pro 11 coming into the market, Huawei is determined to make its mark at this price point – PHP 41,990. Would it be worth considering? Let’s find out.

Build Quality

As Huawei targets an audience of productivity and entertainment, it is determined to prove that there is a certain capacity in these high-end products that will rein them into the ecosystem of Huawei.

The Huawei MatePad Pro 11 features a sleek and premium aesthetic presenting a matte black design at the rear that magnifies its elegance. Weighing almost 500 grams, the tablet is lightweight and can be easily held with one hand.

Providing a 5.9mm thin body it rivals that of the Apple iPad Pro when it comes to being slim.

Multimedia and Entertainment

The display of the Huawei MatePad Pro 11 features a 120Hz 11-inch OLED display that displays vibrant colors out of the box. Browsing and entertainment become more immersive thanks to its OLED screen that has a WQXGA 2560 × 1600 resolution and 274 PPI display giving really crisp visual details to basically anything that the tablet would be used for.

In terms of audio, the Huawei MatePad Pro 11 is equipped with 6 speakers ensuring the loudness of the tablet and creating a more alluring experience. Getting an external speaker wouldn’t be necessary as this has got to be one of the loudest sound systems on a speaker.

Camera

For the camera, it provides an AI Dual Camera that is 13MP with an f/1.8 aperture and an 8 MP wide-angle camera that has an f/2.2 aperture. The camera is able to shoot up to 4208 x 3120 pixels from the rear while on the front, with its 16 MP f/2.2 camera, it provides up to 4608 x 3456 pixels. Although the actual image resolution may defer depending on the shooting mode.

Taking into consideration that this is a tablet camera, expect that the shots won’t compare to most phones.

Performance

Moving on to performance, the Huawei MatePad Pro 11 is powered by a Snapdragon 870 with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. One downside that consumers would need to consider is that there is no option to upgrade the internal storage or add a microSD card.

Playing games on the Huawei MatePad Pro 11 is a breeze thanks to the high-end processor that provides a great advantage in games as well as the 8GB of RAM. This definitely minimizes stutters and almost eliminates lag all throughout. Though another thing worth noting is that most games will not be available as a result that the phone does not have Google services available.

Conclusion

The Huawei MatePad Pro 11 checks all the right boxes on any given checklist with its OLED display, battery life, productivity features, and even gaming capabilities! One of the best parts of this tablet is the speaker that creates an immersive experience especially when watching YouTube videos or streaming videos online. It is close to perfect but unfortunately, it has almost already become a necessity for Android devices to have a PlayStore present making the price point of the tablet a bit too hefty. If it boils down to purchasing something at a price of PHP 41,999 you’re better off buying a laptop that provides the same experience.
