#5 – MSI GAMING PRO GV62 | PHP38,995
Quick Spec: Intel I5-8300H | 4GB | 1TB | GTX1050
The MSI Gaming PRO is first on our list as it it is the only Intel + Nvidia GTX combination that is priced below PHP40,000 from the get go. It doesn’t offer the highest ram count or SSD storage but it gives you all the basic requirements to play the modern games without stuttering or lag. As of writing though, stock availability of this specific configuration is dwindling in numbers as it is set to be replaced by a 9th generation Intel i5-9300H at a much higher price. If you ask us, though, the performance between the i5-8300H and i5-9300H is negligible and it should be a no brainer to pick this one up over the higher priced i5-9300H variant which is estimated to be priced at PHP44,995.

#4 – ASUS TUF GAMING FX505 DY | PHP35,995
Quick Spec: Ryzen 5-3550H | 4GB | 1TB | RX560X | 120Hz Panel
ASUS is probably the most popular brand when it comes to gaming and that’s not surprising. They have some of the best deals in the market and are currently the only brand that offers fast refresh rates of up to 120hz below PHP40,000. This particular configuration, in fact, also has a 120hz panel that the rest of the models in our list currently cannot boast of. Sure, the Ryzen 5-3550H and RX560X may be too weak to push the 120hz to it’s limits but given the correct mix of details and settings, you’ll definitely see some games hitting 120 frames per second.
Unfortunately, that’s pretty much that we have to say about this laptop. It’s cheap yet comes with a 120hz, but we do believe that Intel based I5s + GTX combos still offer better value for money than current R5-3550H and RX560X, which is actually an almost 4 year old GPU already having been released last May 2017. It has yet to be suceeded by an RX660X though that that may be unecessary as rumor has it that it would be nothing but a rebrand to refresh the naming scheme, and nothing more.

#3 – ASUS ROG STRIX G531GD-AL030T | PHP49,995
Quick Spec: Intel Core i5-9300H | 4GB | 512GB | GTX1050 | 120Hz Panel
The ROG Strix G531GD is the most expensive on our list yet makes it to the top 3 since it offers a lot of value that most gaming laptops below PHP50,000 don’t offer. This makes it look like it’s quite expensive if you’re looking at just a spec sheet versus price but once you see the product in full glory, you’ll understand how much of a great value this is. In fact, this is the most affordable ROG variant there is in the market today, and is also the most affordable non-subbrand chassis.
The ROG strix G531GD is clad in metal, offers RGB keyboard, a 120HZ panel, speedy SSD’s and one of the best designs we’ve seen in a laptop in 2019. In comparison, alternative models from Predator, MSI or LEGION don’t come cheap and are usually found for over PHP50,000 making this a top choice for those who are willing to pay a few extra bucks for best in class design, better durability and a set of features that you usually don’t find in sub brands like ACER Predator’s NITRO5, Lenovo Legion’s L340 Gaming, or ASUS’ own TUF GAMING.

Runner Up:
Lenovo L340 Gaming | PHP42,995
Quick Spec: Intel Core i5-9300H | 4GB | 512GB SSD | GTX1050
Note: This laptop can be purchased at only PHP36,995 if paid for in cash. Free 4GB ram upgrades are also available at the time of writing but may be limited to March 2020.
The L340 Gaming is one of biggest surprises of 2019. Where Intel based laptops are usualy priced much higher than their AMD counterparts, the L340 aimed to close the gap in terms of price, upsell with regards to spec, and offer what is currently the best in class warranty for any laptop in the country. What do we mean by this? Let us take a deep dive into the spec.
The Lenovo L340 Gaming is the only configuration of Intel + Nvidia GTX that comes with 512GB of ultra fast SSD yet can be purchased below PHP40,000. That’s a super bang for the buck deal if you ask us. It was actually a front runner for TOP GAMING LAPTOP UNDER 50K for March 2020 but it was surpassed by just one laptop in terms of sheer value.
Further, if security and peace of mind is what you’re after, the Lenovo L340 wont disappoint as it is covered by 24 months of On-site service via Lenovo’s PREMIUM CARE warranty – that includes services like 24/7 hotline and access to senior technicians.

And our TOP GAMING LAPTOP for March 2020 is:
ACER NITRO 5 | PHP35,995
Quick Spec: R5-3550H | 4GB | 1TB | RX560X
Note: This particular config can be found for PHP29,995 if you search hard enough.
Okay! Let’s break it down.
This certain ACER NITRO 5 configuration may not be the most powerful in the list but it is one of the most affordable gaming laptops we’ve seen in the last 12 months. It’s so affordable that it’s priced at the same segments as non-gaming laptops without a powerful processor and GPU to boot.
You’ll ask why this made it to the top of our despite being exactly the same spec as our #4 on the list, but it’s the sale price that bumps this up to the top! At PHP29,995 – it’s a hot deal that is currently unbeatable.
This makes it a hard-to-resist offer for gamers out there who are just about to embark on their e-sports journey. Truth be told, this gaming laptop won’t let you play the latest AAA titles with visually immersive gameplay or with perfect detail but it does let you enjoy some of the most famous E-sports titles like DOTA 2 or CS:GO without a hiccup. For other titles like Overwatch, PUBG or Call of Duty – You’re going to have to tone down your settings though.
Nevertheless, the Acer Nitro 5 with AMD RYZEN 5-3550H and RX560X at PHP29,995 is an almost impossible to beat offer in the market today.
The Acer Nitro 5 is covered by Acer’s 24 month door-to-door warranty service.
