AMD slashes the prices of Radeon 5700 and 5700XT just before launch.

In AMD’s official facebook page, Radeon has announced price cuts of about 50$ a day right before the official availability.

AMD’s statement reads:

AMD is focused on providing gamers with amazing experiences and access to the very best gaming technology at attractive price points. As you have seen, competition is heating up in the GPU market.

We embrace competition, which drives innovation to the benefit of gamers. In that spirit, we are updating the pricing of our Radeon RX 5700 Series graphics cards, launching July 7.

– 50th Anniversary Edition AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT — $449 USD SEP
– AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT graphics card — $399 USD SEP
– AMD Radeon RX 5700 graphics card — $349 USD SEP

We know that gamers will be thrilled once they have the opportunity to experience the amazing performance, stunning visual fidelity and highly responsive gameplay these new graphics cards provide. Making history on 7/7 as the first company to launch gaming CPUs and GPUs together – the first in 7nm and PCIe 4.0 – is all about pushing the ultimate gaming experience forward for as many gamers as possible.

This is exciting because you’re now getting RTX2070 performance for 399$, which is roughly where the RTX2060 SUPER now plays at and exactly priced.

This means that the RTX2060 Super goes head to head with the Radeon 5700XT and the Radeon 5700 goes head to head with the non-super RTX2060.
