This is our 2nd edition of top gaming laptops at 39,995 and the list remains largely unchanged, with MSI’s GV62 getting bumped off from the TOP5. This list also contains a new winner, the only one we saw worth of toppling Lenovo’s IdeaPad Gaming and for good reason!
You can still check out the old list here.
5. ASUS GAMING X560UD [PHP39,995 NET CASH]
Announced back in 2016, the X560UD was the first GTX1050 laptop to hit the sub-40K price-point. Using a more power efficient ULV Quad-core i5 processor, the laptop was meant for balancd users who needs a machine that can last long but still be powerful enough to handle daily tasks. The compact form factor is also a plus having very thin bezel versus the other laptops found in this list making it an ultraportable powerhouse.

It uses AMD’s Ryzen 5 quad core cpu but, interestingly, is paired with a full 4GB DDR5 GTX1050 for some serious firepower at it’s price point. Compared to it’s X560UD sibling, though, the X570ZD does not have thin bezels but makes up for it by a cheaper price point at 37,995 – the cheapest in this list.

Runner up!
Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 330 [PHP39,995 NET CASH]
This laptop was crowned as the best at this price point in our February 2019 list. While most other brands resort to ULV processors to reach this pricepoint, or a non-GTX card – Lenovo has done neither. Using a true quad core gaming processor – the i5-8300H- and paired with a full GTX1050 GPU, the IdeaPad Gaming laptop is no doubt a true value for money. Backed by 2 years warranty and accidental damage protection, it’s a solid investment for first time buyers.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t using a gaming centric chassis and had a regular 60hz screen – being the reasons why it got edged out by our new champion! STILL, if your preference is an Intel + Nvidia configuration, this is the laptop to look for.

A New Champion emerges!
The FX505DY is what ASUS touts as “The Real Game Changer” and it might as well be. With a gaming chassis, a 120hz screen on top of similar spec compared to everything else on this list, including the same magic price of 39,995, the FX505DY offers so much for gamers looking into starting their gaming careers with a decent device. The Ryzen 5 3550H processor is a 35W processor that can hold it’s own against the i5-8300H and the RX560X might be a 2 year old GPU but has good enough weight to throw huge punches at the GTX1050. The Intel i5-8300HH+Nvidia GTX1050 may be slightly ahead in some performance tests but no laptop with that configuration comes with a gaming chassis and 120hz screen at the price of the FX505DY.
If you feel the spec is lacking, it can be upgraded up to 16GB of ram and an SSD of up to 512GB.

*Editors notes – All laptops are indentical in their base configurations of coming in with only a 4GB DDR4 ram and a 1TB Hard drive but all of them are upgradeable up to atleast 16GB of ram. An M.2 slot is also available in all 5 gaming laptops for those looking for a speedier system. We recommend atleast an extra 4GB and 128GB SSD add-on for any of the 5 laptops listed above.
All gaming laptops we listed are available in Major IT resellers nationwide. Prices may vary at the time of purchase versus the time this article was written.
