The PIxel line-up from google has been very successful in its 2-year run for Google due to its vanilla Android offering straight from Google, timely updates, and what might still be the best camera in the sea of smartphones nowadays. Moreover, though it might not be that popular here in the Philippines, the Pixel and the Pixel XL line has been gaining a lot of traction due to that latter mentioned reason wherein despite it being announced last 2017, its camera performs equally or even better that those flagship phones announced in the late 2017 and up to now. This makes a lot of people here in the country curious and excited to what Google may come up for it’s 3rd generation which will be due this year.
There are a lot of rumors but no official leaks about this product. Aside from the possible notch support for this device which was very obvious when Google released Android P beta which has supports for phones with multiple kinds of notches, we don’t have any mock-up nor a possible spec leak about it.
This changes today as we might have the possible screen protectors for the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL in the wild. As usual, it’ll come in 2 sizes and as expected, either one of both devices will have a notch on top of it’s display. A rather tall notch in fact. And it seems that it might be the tallest notch we’ve seen compared to other Android phones sporting the similar design language. Setting the notch aside, we appreciate that Google is still supporting the front-firing stereo speaker in this device, if this is the real deal.
Going to the smaller brother, the Pixel 3, this one looks more of a late 2017 flagship with ultrathin bezels on the side ala Samsung S8 / S9 and also has that front-firing stereo speaker. In terms of design, this device might be appealing to a greater audience but until such time that we see the physical product itself, or atleast a final mock-up, we can’t judge yet.
What can you say about the device? Would you be copping the Pixel 3 / Pixel 3 XL this year once it comes out? Share us your thoughts.
