The iPhone X, which was launched last 2017, disappointed a lot of Apple fans who were expecting a much better product. Specifications were mediocre at best, and the pricing was terribly excessive.

However, it was a game-changer in the mobile industry for one particular design change – that notch, which partially covers the top-center part of the screen.. Almost all mobile phone manufacturers are now aiming to release a product with that sought-after notch (Asus Zenfone 5, Oppo F7, Vivo V9, Huawei P20, and many others)

 

While browsing in Lazada, we recently spotted an interesting mobile phone with that notch (or at least it looks like a notch – we’re not sure if it actually covers the screen). Called the VINOVO L2, it features an MTK658 Quad-Core processor (not sure if this is the same as the Mediatek MT6580), a 5-inch display, and 1GB of RAM + 8GB of ROM. It has dual-cameras at the back! From the specifications alone, this is not a high-performance phone like the iPhone X. It does have a flashlight though, so that’s pretty cool…. we guess?

Priced at only Php2,399, it is one of many [China-branded] phones in this highly competitive low-end market segment.
