We’ve seen a lot of Android devices adopting on-screen software buttons instead of physical buttons. The likes of previous Nexus and current Pixel phones are one of the first device to feature this on-screen buttons.

In a step to one-up this, Google may be testing in its Android P beta software an iPhone X style gesture control. Based on a leaked photo of Android P homescreen buttons, we could only see a back button and a rather similar looking line to iPhone X which could possibly mean that it may adopt the same gesture to go home. Weird though that we can’t see any recent apps button which is what everyone is used to.

Again, this is a beta test only which could mean that it may or may not go through in the final version of Android P.
