The barrage of new GTX16XX laptops arriving in PH shores are getting a lot of customers excited. What used to be GTX1060 category between the 60-80K range is soon to be flooded with GTX1660ti-based laptops, with MSI leading the charge with the MSI GL63 Gaming laptop equipped with a full GTX1660ti 4GD5 GPU.
If you’re not familiar, the GTX1660ti performs similar to last generations GTX1070. This means that the GTX1660ti is able to outperform the GTX1060 by up to 1.5X, or 50% better in games.
[Notes: The RTX2060 performsn like a GTX1070ti, the RTX2070 like a 1080 and the RTX2080 like a 1080ti.] Meanwhile, a GTX1650 will outperform the outgoing GTX1050ti.
Nvidia even goes on to compare the GTX1660ti to the 4 year old GTX960M, hoping to attract them to finally upgrade to newer systems.
Here’s a relative comparison of how much better the FPS gains are versus the GTX1060. Here you will see Battlefield getting over 1.5X better FPS.
