While January 19 is the first official day when the Rockwell bridge is closing off for renovation, motorists will feel it’s full effect only when the 1st day of the work week resumes on January 21 where motorists who usually frequent the bridge will find themselves along EDSA or nearby routes.
The bridge, set to reopen only on Year 2021, will be wider once construction is done to help ease traffic in Makati and Mandaluyong but the 2 years it will take to achieve that goal will be quite painful for many.
MMDA estimates that over 100,000 motorists will be affected per day but will benefit over double than that once it reopens.
