We previously wrote on the re-branding of Dell’s 7000 series Gaming laptops and stated that they would be brought to PH in Q2 2018, but they were delayed. However, we finally got word on the purported specs and SRP and, if true, they’re priced VERY competitively.
In a market where ASUS and MSI dominate, making up over 50% of the gaming market share alone – Dell knows that they have a chance to take a big pie. With the specifications and prices that we’ve seen, we believe that it is quite doable!
ASUS and MSI should look out!

If you want to compare this checks out versus MSI and ASUS, take a look at the following:
ENTRY i5+GTX1050/ti
54,995 | FX504GD-EN045T (Metal) | 15″ FHD | IPS 120HZ | i5-8300 | 4G | GTX1050 4GD5 | 1TB-8GSSH |
49,995 | Nitro 5 AN515-52-56CQ | 15″ FHD | IPS | i5-8300 | 4G | GTX1050 4GD5 | 1TB |
58,995 | GV62 8RD-067PH | 15.6″ FHD | IPS | I5-8300 | 4G | GTX1050Ti 4GD5 | 1TB |
49,995 | G3 15 3579 | 15″ FHD | IPS | i5-8300 | 4G | GTX1050 4GD5 | 1TB |
In this table, the Nitro 5 fights square with the G3 but the offering from ASUS and MSI are a little different. At a full, PHP5,000 more – You get a metal body from ASUS Tuf Gaming series and a 120Hz Screen, while MSI ups it up with a GTX1050ti for their 58,995 offering. Acer’s NITRO and Dell’s G3 are more basic, but users are this pricepoint usually require only reliability without so much bling so both brands take the cake.
MID i7+GTX1050/ti
69,995 | FX504GE-EN179T (Metal) | 15″ FHD | IPS 120HZ | i7-8750 | 8G | GTX1050Ti 4GD5 | 1TB-8GSSH |

69,995 | Nitro 5 AN515-52-70GL | 15″ FHD | IPS | i7-8750 | 8G | GTX1050ti 4GD5 | 1TB+128G SSD |
69,995 | GV62 8RD-066PH | 15.6″ FHD | IPS | I7-8750 | 8G | GTX1050Ti 4GD5 | 1TB |
69,995 | GL63 8RD-264PH | 15.6″ FHD | IPS | I7-8750 | 8G | GTX1050ti 4GD5 | 1TB |
58,995 | G7 15 7588 | 15″ FHD | IPS | I7-8750 | 8G | GTX1050 4GD5 | 1TB-8GSSH |
67,995 | G3 15 3579 | 15″ FHD | IPS | I7-8750 | 8G | GTX1050ti 4GD5 | 1TB+128G SSD |
This segment is a little more packed, all have 2 options each with MSI’s specification and price being roughly the same but differing in design/chassis and ASUS’ offering set apart only by SSD, where the one with PCIE SSD costs about 72995 – the most expensive of the bunch.
The cheapest of the bunch is the G7 15 but only offers a GTX1050, whereas all other options offer a GTX1050ti. The price gap is quite huge though and hard to accept since ACER’s Nitro 5 is only PHP1000 higher but uses a 1050ti.
The 67,995 offering for Dell’s G3 is quite appealing though as it features the same specification as ASUS’ FX504GE with 128G Pcie but at a full PHP5000 lower. Is the 120hz really worth the extra P5000 pesos?
High End Core i7 + GTX1060
84,995 | FX504GM-EN019T (Metal) | 15″ FHD | IPS 120HZ | i7-8750 | 8G | GTX1060 6GD5 | 1TB+128G PCIE2 |
103,995 | GP63 Leopard Pro | 15″ FHD | TN 120HZ | I7-8750 | 8G | GTX1060 6GD5 | 1TB+256G SSD |
93,995 | GP63 Leopard Pro | 15″ FHD | IPS | I7-8750 | 8G | GTX1060 6GD5 | 1TB |
79,995 | Helios 300 PH315-51-77N0 | 15″ FHD | IPS | i7-8750 | 8G | GTX1060 6GD5 | 1TB |
99,995 | G7 15 7588 | 15″ FHD | IPS | I7-8750 | 16GB | GTX1060 6GD5 | 1TB+256G SSD |
The high-end spectrum is quite interesting too! Acer breaks away from the competition with the cheapest GTX1060 offering across all brands, making it quite bang for the buck but stepping it up a notch gets you 120hz and SSD from ASUS at 84,995.
Meanwhile, the G7 and GP63 are more similarly priced at 93,995, 99,995 and 103,995 but the Dell might have an edge over MSI’s offering as they put a 16GB ram on the table whereas MSI only offers 8GB.
With MSI though, you do get an RGB Steelseries keyboard but is that enough to warranty a price premium of about P20,000 versus ASUS’ Tuf Gaming FX504 or the Helios 300?
You decide.
Side note: The G3 and G7 have their own differences in design, instead of only specifications. Think of the G3 as the old 3000 series, and the G7 from the more premium 7000 series, – with more features on the G7 like better cooling, better screen, better sound and a sleeker body versus the G3 series.
