Lenovo’s 2019 laptops come with 512GB PCIEx4 NVME SSD, Starts at only P18,995

Lenovo, in a surprise move, invited the country’s top resellers and media to an event in Mckinley to showcase their full stack of products for the holiday season and beyond. Product launches are not new and are usually done by brands to unveil their latest and greatest but Lenovo did more than just that.

MODERN PC ERA

At the event, Lenovo unleashed a line up that was 100% modern, all falling under the category of “Ultrabooks” – or notebooks that are 19.9mm thin or lower, with each of the SKUS they launched coming pre-installed with an ultrafast PCIEx4 NVME SSD. It’s not just any low capacity storage SSD either, they are going with a full blown 512GB PCIEx4 NVME sotrage even for their entry level devices.

This makes Lenovo the first brand in the country, and in the world – to usher Microsoft’s Modern PC Campaign in full blast – wherein the minimum requirement is to have an ultrafast SSD and be 19.9mm thin or below. To the unaware, it can be quite expensive to adopt ultrathin form factors and SSD, hence most brands (including Lenovo) were usually box-pushing thicker laptops with the age old traditinal hard disk drives which usually run at 100-120mb/second speeds only. SSD’s can reach up to 3000mb/s at it’s fasted making SSDs over 25X better than HDDs.

According to Intel, the processor’s new architecture can handle 18% more instructions per clock than the previous generation. In addition, they can deliver 16% more performance gains and enable 41% more productivity and multitasking on Office 365 than the previous generation chips.
